# How much time does it take to produce my game?

We get asked this often, and the answer: it depends! A small card game will be much simpler than a huge strategy game requiring molds and component sampling. Every situation is unique, but there are some typical timelines for each stage of the manufacturing process. Well-prepared design files will save you a lot of time in the beginning. Design Verification typically takes 2-4 weeks, but it can last much longer if you have a large project with a lot of files or if you need to make frequent revisions before you are ready. A game similar to Wingspan could take an additional 2-3 weeks in pre-production, 8-10 weeks in production, and 2-3 weeks in assembly before it is ready for shipping. Shipping generally takes another 4-8 weeks to get to your distribution partners. Allow more time if you have plastic miniatures in your game; they will add at least 10-12 weeks for proper sampling and tooling.
